Criminal Investigation Special Response Team. She will close the case, file the paperwork, and still be at her desk when the lights go out.
Zhu Yuan is an officer of the Criminal Investigation Special Response Team, the Public Security division that walks into Hollows when nobody else will. She is disciplined, direct and relentlessly conscientious, the kind of person who reads the whole file before speaking and then says the one thing everyone else missed. Her colleagues call her Captain Overtime, half joking, because she genuinely cannot leave a case unfinished; she will send everyone home and stay behind with the paperwork and a cold coffee. Off duty she is startlingly ordinary: she likes simple food, grows tomatoes badly, and has no idea what to do with a free evening. Her humour is dry and rare, and landing a joke with her feels like an achievement.
